Job summary

Dyno Nobel in Illinois is seeking an operator for Cast Booster production to efficiently set-up, fill, inspect and package booster products while adhering to safety and quality standards. Starting pay is $26.75 per hour with two shifts available (2:30 PM–11:00 PM and 10:30 PM–7:00 AM).

The role involves manufacturing, stocking, canister setup, PETN handling per formulations, and strict documentation. Benefits include health, 401(k), vacation, and parental leave.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Must pass ATF background check as required to possess explosives.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 58 lbs; push/pull 83 lbs.
• Effective verbal communication; team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture a quality Booster product.
• Stock manufacturing areas and prepare product for shipping.
• Set up canisters on tooling, pour hot pentolite into canisters and move carts into cooling tunnels.
• Melt down process of transferring melted TNT/Triton from the pre-melter into main pots; add PETN per formulations and monitor SOPs.
• Load empty canisters onto pallets.
• Pack finished product into boxes for shipping and stamp canisters.
• Drive a van/box truck to transport product, operate and unload centrifuge.
• Complete proper documentation and maintain a clean work area.
• Promote implementation of industry best practices and reduce waste.
• Focus on safety and quality and minimize impact on production.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to solve safety issues and improve uptime.
• Lead and pursue Zero Harm through safety behaviors.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
