Job summary

LINK Media is seeking a Boone County Reporter to deliver daily news and in-depth coverage for the Northern Kentucky community. You will manage a beat, develop relationships, and write quickly and well while navigating a fast-moving digital newsroom.

You'll cover government, education, business, growth, and community issues; attend meetings, break news, cultivate sources, and contribute to multimedia storytelling with the digital team.

Qualifications

• Experience in hard-news reporting on local government, elections, or community beats.
• Strong writing, reporting, and interviewing skills with accuracy and fairness.
• Ability to translate complex policy issues into clear stories.

Responsibilities

• Report and write clear, accurate stories on government, elections, education, business, and community issues.
• Attend meetings and cover public proceedings, including evenings as required.
• Break news on policy changes and developments impacting residents.
• Cultivate sources and relationships with officials, educators, business leaders, and community stakeholders.
• Identify enterprise stories on growth, budgets, and infrastructure.
• Cover community features and events; contribute to multimedia storytelling with the digital team.
• Use analytics to inform coverage and engage readers; collaborate with editors and reporters.
