Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Spanaway, WA is seeking a Boom/Crane Operator to move heavy construction materials within the yard and onto delivery trucks. You will perform rigging, planning and hoisting, inspect equipment, and help ensure safety and efficiency on daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of boom/crane operation experience, and a Boom/Crane Operator certification. Work is performed in a production environment with safety emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Operates boom and/or crane to move heavy construction material into specific areas of the yard or onto delivery truck, including rigging, planning and hoisting.
• Inspects and maintains boom/crane equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage.
• Moves material into yard areas or hoists material onto delivery trucks.
• May ride with Driver to assist unloading at customer sites.
• Calculates boom/crane capacities and weights; checks clearances to protect buildings, wires and foundations.
• Plans and paces own work to meet daily/weekly/project goals; adheres to safety procedures and participates in safety meetings.
