Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Boom/Crane Operator to safely move heavy construction material within yards and onto delivery trucks. You will perform rigging, planning and hoisting while inspecting equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of boom/crane experience, and a Boom/Crane Operator certification. You may ride with a Driver to assist unloading and contribute to meeting daily productivity

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years boom/crane operation experience, or equivalent.
• Boom or Crane Operator certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds frequently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

• Operates boom including rigging, planning and hoisting of heavy materials and inspects equipment.
• Moves material within yard or hoists onto delivery truck.
• May ride with Driver to assist unloading at customer site.
• Calculates capacities and clearances to prevent damage.
• Plans work to meet productivity goals.
• Follows safety procedures and attends safety meetings.
• Other duties may be assigned.
