Job summary

Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX is seeking a Part-Time Bookstore Associate to provide friendly customer service, operate the POS, stock merchandise, and help create inviting displays. The position requires a High School diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Sundays are required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, to support daily bookstore

Qualifications

• Active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church.
• Fluent reading/writing in English; Spanish preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Retail experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Knowledge of basic store merchandising and POS operations.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in the Bookstore.
• Operate POS system to process sales transactions.
• Stock shelves and display merchandise.
• Create appealing displays to promote products.
• Answer questions about location, price, and availability of items.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Maintain cleanliness of shelves and counters.
• Assist with inventory and stock replenishment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Bookstore leadership.

Responsible for providing customer service and assigned job responsibilities in the Bookstore at Prestonwood Baptist Church ("PBC").

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service and maintains a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers
• Operates POS system to process sales transactions
• Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
• Assembles displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales
• Answers customer inquiries regarding location, price, etc. of merchandise
• Wraps or bags merchandise for customers
• Maintains cleanliness of shelves, counters, tables, etc.
• May keep inventory of stock or order merchandise
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of PBC
• Proficient ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Related work experience in a retail environment
• Knowledge of principles and methods involved in showing, promoting, and selling products
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office programs
• Flexibility to work varied schedule; Sundays required
• Able to stand continuously during shift, with intermittent periods of walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
