Job summary

Books-A-Million Fort Smith, AR is seeking a part-time Bookseller to deliver outstanding customer service and help customers with questions, orders, and checkout.

You will assist with product placement, promotions, and inventory tasks while maintaining store standards and a friendly shopping environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Successful completion of required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sales of all products and promotion of point of sale initiatives including Membership programs, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs.
• Balances cash drawer following each register shift within allowable variances as identified in the Loss Prevention Policy.
• Delivers and places product on the sales floor in accordance with merchandising guidelines and timelines.
• Recovers the sales floor during each shift, including picking up items, shelving books and product, straightening bookshelves and tables, and store housekeeping tasks.
• Protects company assets by adhering to all loss prevention standards and acting with integrity in all transactions.
• Other duties as assigned including assisting in other departments, receiving shipments, small fixture assembly and maintenance, assisting with inventory, and restroom cleanliness.

Job Description

The Bookseller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about books and other merchandise in the store, proactively seek to assist customers, and provide an outstanding shopping experience.
