Job summary

Books A Million in Kokomo, IN is seeking a friendly Bookseller to deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with questions and orders while handling cash transactions. You will help shoppers discover books and merchandise, promote Membership and Educator programs, and ensure accurate cash register operations.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, stocking shelves, maintaining merchandising standards, and supporting other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to perform cashiering and merchandising tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers and assisting with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sales of all products and promotion of point of sale initiatives including Membership programs, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs.
• Balances cash drawer following each shift within variances as identified in Loss Prevention Policy.
• Delivers and places product on the sales floor in accordance with merchandising guidelines and timelines.
• Recovers the sales floor during each shift, including shelving books and product, straightening bookshelves and tables, and store housekeeping tasks as required.
• Protects company assets by adhering to all loss prevention standards and acting with integrity in all transactions.
• Other duties as assigned including assisting in other departments, receiving shipments, small fixture maintenance, assisting with inventory, and restroom cleanliness.

The Bookseller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about books and other merchandise in the store, proactively seek to assist customers, and provide an outstanding shopping experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sales of all products and promotion of point of sale initiatives including Membership programs, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs.
• Balances cash drawer following each register shift within allowable variances as identified in the Loss Prevention Policy.
