Job summary

MidPointe Library System in Middletown, OH is seeking a part-time Library Associate to deliver friendly, customer-focused service across in-building and bookmobile operations.

Responsibilities include assisting patrons, processing holds and returns, driving the 30' bookmobile (CDL not required), and promoting online resources. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; MS Office and Internet experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, no CDL needed.
• Must be able to safely operate the 30' bookmobile and other fleet vehicles.
• Must be friendly, approachable and provide a positive patron experience.
• Must have excellent customer service, strong problem solving, and adaptability.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Computer experience including MS Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons, check in/out materials, and process holds and reserves.
• Drive the 30' bookmobile and other fleet vehicles (no CDL required).
• Sort, shelve materials and use lists to pull items for patrons.
• Provide reading recommendations and guidance on using online resources.
• Support community outreach at schools and events as needed.
