H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Rockville, MD to handle bookkeeping, payroll, and client service, supporting our brand promise to provide help and inspire confidence in communities.

You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, prepare payroll, and engage with clients and vendors to drive retention and growth. Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, familiarity with GAAP, and the ability to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multi-task.

Responsabilités

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth.
