Versfeld & Hugo, LLC seeks a precise Bookkeeper to join our Accounting team in the Kansas City area. You will record and verify financial transactions, bring books to trial balance, and assist with tax forms while upholding GAAP standards and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient with Excel and QuickBooks, with solid communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data and transactions.
• Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered.
• Prepare trial balance.
• Analyze budgets and other financial information.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Complete required tax forms.
