Job summary

TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to maintain customer partner accounts, process invoices, payments, and statements. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a fully on-site office in Chula Vista, CA.

You will review orders for accounting accuracy, run daily banking reports, perform credit checks on new partners, and support month-end close with ERP tools and Excel.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Bookkeeping certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounts receivable email and respond to inquiries.
  • Proofread and process invoices, billings, and payment terms.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely shipments and payments.
  • Process daily invoices and ensure digital delivery.
  • Maintain banking transaction reports and reconciliation.
  • Record customer payments and resolve short payments and deductions.
  • Support month-end close and journal entries.
  • Perform basic account analysis and data entry in ERP.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Maintain Accounts Receivable business partner accounts by printing invoices, proof reading, submitting invoices, processing payments, collection calls, credit check processing and maintaining files. Work in the office 100 percent of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain and monitor accounts receivable email
  • Proofread sales orders and customer purchase orders regarding accounting concerns. Bill to, payment terms, sales tax, delivery terms and applicable notes
  • Monitor customers ongoing: to allow shipments
  • Proofread shipping paperwork
  • Processing invoices daily and ensuring proper digital invoice delivery
  • Maintain daily banking transaction reports
  • Validate and record customer payments, including customer deductions and short payment resolution
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable open and closed files
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports, initiate collection calls and correspondence, and work collaboratively with customers and internal departments to resolve outstanding balances
  • New business partner set up in ERP system
  • Perform credit checks on new and current business partners
  • Month end Intercompany confirmations activities
  • Perform account analysis
  • Maintain reports as needed, weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Journal entry creation and entry
  • Accounts Payable knowledge
  • Willingness to cross training in other areas

Education and/or Experience

One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Bookkeeping certification is a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic math; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Concentration in Excel skills. Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, PowerPoint and Access, or Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) is helpful. Must also be able to perform limited troubleshooting.

Other Qualifications

Successful candidate will be highly motivated, team oriented and well-organized. Possess strong analytical skills, negotiating, and the ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.

SALARY RANGE

The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $23.00 to $30.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
