Job summary

Aardvark Tax Advisors, the accounting and client services arm of Cynch AI, seeks a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for our hybrid California offices (Cupertino, Pleasanton, Santa Cruz). You’ll manage general ledger entries, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly closings while supporting tax filings and client service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero, and a solid understanding of GL management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and GL.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client financial records including general ledger entries.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and vendor invoicing and payments.
• Record payroll transactions and expense reimbursements.
• Prepare monthly closings and financial statements.
• Support tax filings and internal reviews.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper who values precision, client service, and continuous improvement.

The role is hybrid, based out of ourCupertino,Pleasanton, orSanta Cruzoffices.

Core Bookkeeping & Transaction Management

• Maintain accurate client financial records, including general ledger entries and account maintenance.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills, invoicing, payment tracking, and overdue accounts.
• Record payroll transactions, expenses, and reimbursements.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.

Financial Reporting & Close

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Support month-end and year-end close and prepare financial information for tax filings and internal review.

Client Support

• Serve as a primary point of contact for bookkeeping-related client needs.
• Gather financial documentation and help clients use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero.

Collaboration & Technology

• Partner with accountants and tax professionals to keep bookkeeping and tax work accurate and coordinated.
• Maintain organized client records and documentation in firm systems.
• Adopt tools and workflow improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency.

Core Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management

Preferred Skills

• Payroll processing experience
• Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations
• Experience supporting multiple clients in a fast-paced environment
• Accounting or bookkeeping certification

Work Environment

• Hybrid: generally three days per week onsite.
• Overtime may be required during peak tax seasons
• Remote or in-office work depending on firm needs
• Tax season requires full-time in-office
• Occasional client site visits may be required

Salary Range (Bay Area): $55,000 - $75,000

Salary Range (Non-Bay): $48,000 - $65,000
