Job summary

Tyndale House Publishers is seeking a Book Interior Layout Intern to support the design and production of print and digital interiors. You will collaborate with Typesetters and Design Specialists to refine interiors and ensure consistency for reprints and digital formats.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with print layouts, EPUB conversion, and accessibility standards while learning industry tools like Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign. A passion for books and faith-based publishing is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with HTML.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and/or EPUB a big plus.
• Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and applying the aesthetic of a book cover to a book interior, and learn the typesetting skills necessary to prepare interiors.
• Apply text corrections and design updates to pages as requested
• Output page proofs and InCopy files in accordance with Editorial proofreading requirements
• Prepare, preflight, and check final print-ready PDF files
• Evaluate digital products against the latest professional standards (WCAG)
• Improve accessibility by adding semantic tagging and image descriptions
• Certify accurate descriptions of accessibility levels and features for discoverability
