Job summary

Penguin Random House in Hampstead, MD is hiring for a 1st shift Picker/Packer (Order Processor 1) with a 7:00am–3:00pm schedule. The role is full-time, offering a base pay of $16.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, a 401(k), and paid time off. The Hampstead Distribution Center handles the picking, packing and shipping of roughly 1.2 million books daily for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and perform basic math
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly (up to 35 pounds occasionally)

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer book orders using voice automation and other methods
• Maintain accuracy in order fulfillment and packing procedures
• Follow safety guidelines and lift/move items within scope of the role
• Support distribution center operations during shift hours as required
