Job summary

Ellwood Texas Forge Houston is seeking a Utility Operator for the 2nd shift to support forging, heat treat and machining operations in a high-volume shop. The role involves operating grinders, saws, and related equipment while maintaining safety, quality and traceability across processes.

You will work across departments, handle heavy lifting, learn multiple functions, and participate in continuous improvement while adhering to OSHA standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Safety – knowledge of industrial safety and ability to recognize hazards and apply safety procedures; follow OSHA requirements.
• Read and understand instructions/work orders; operate equipment per work instructions.
• Judgment and decision-making to prevent errors and safety hazards; problem solving when issues arise.
• Teamwork – collaborate with coworkers, supervisors and managers.
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergencies; ability to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinders and prepare materials per specs.
• Assist in process activities (Saw Operations, Forge, Heat Treat, Processing).
• Verify dimensions with measurement tools; set controls for speed/feeds.
• Operate saws to cut, slot, groove, and trim pieces per specs.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain material traceability and complete data entry as required.
