Job summary

UAHSF in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients undergoing stem cell transplantation.

The ideal candidate has experience in Hematology/Oncology, knowledge of chemotherapy and CAR-T therapies, and familiarity with managing treatment-related complications.

This position includes a structured work schedule with weekends and holidays required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Hematology/Oncology is essential.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and CAR-T.
• Experience with post-transplant care and graft-versus-host disease management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and treatment to patients as assigned.
• Coordinate plan of care, discharge, and specialty referrals.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests for the patient.
• Ensure complete documentation of patient assessments and care provided.
