Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Per Diem Bone Density Technician to perform scans, analyze results, and prepare reports. The role involves administrative duties for the Endocrine Division, including scheduling, referrals, and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Willingness to be trained as a Bone Density Technician.
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bone density scans in one to four sessions per week.
  • Quality check the bone densitometer when assigned as the morning scanner.
  • Analyze scans and edit as necessary or when asked by clinic director.
  • Write bone density reports and edit as necessary.
  • Input bone density scans into OMR, copy and mail BMD scans.
  • Answer phones, book patients, and manage referrals.
  • Oversee calendars, events, and speaking engagements for physicians.
  • Obtain referrals and signatures on notices for patients without coverage.
  • Maintain and organize files and respond to patient information requests.
