Job Description - Bonding Inspector A - 2nd Shift (331924)

Work Performed:
  1. Inspect production or first run parts, units, assemblies made from various materials such as plastic, fiberglass, metal, wood, etc., focusing on bonding agents or adhesives.
  2. Inspect bonded parts or parts to be bonded before, during, and after the bonding process, including disassembling at bond lines to assess bond quality.
  3. Perform inspection tests to ensure adherence to specifications, using blueprints, specifications, or verbal instructions.
  4. Use visual inspection and a variety of precision measuring instruments, gauges, jigs, fixtures, templates, etc., to determine acceptability.
  5. Conduct complex inspection layouts and setups to verify work standards or specifications.
  6. Reject items failing to meet quality standards.
  7. Utilize mathematical formulas to inspect weight and balance of rotor blades.
  8. Maintain records, graphs, and charts on bonding procedures, tests, and related data.
  9. Assist other inspectors in bonding inspection methods and procedures.
  10. Handle complex bonding or inspection work.
  11. Perform inspection on formed and machined plastic parts, assemblies, and materials for adherence to blueprints, specifications, workmanship, optical qualities, finishes, defects, layouts, contours, bonding, and dimensional correctness.
  12. Operate tools and equipment such as saws, drill presses, shapers, sanders, and pull test machines for preparing and testing bonded parts, including destructive testing if required.
Tools & Equipment Used:

Saws, drill press, shaper, sanders, hand tools, precision measuring instruments, special testing devices, material testing equipment, layout and setup equipment, and other specialized tools.

Experience & Other Requirements:

Minimum of three years inspection experience in bonding, fabrication, welding, or finishing, or two years inspection experience plus one year in bonding.
