Job summary

Ohio Housing Finance Agency seeks a Bond Accountant 2 to prepare schedules and financial statements for bond series, manage disbursements, and maintain trustee and investment records in a full-time role based in Columbus, OH.

The incumbent will prepare monthly group reports, support regulatory compliance, and ensure accuracy in accounting for mortgage revenue bonds and related assets. Strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

  • 36 months training or 36 months experience in accounting.
  • Undergraduate core program in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or public administration; AND 12 months training or 12 months experience in accounting.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedules to support financial statement numbers for assigned bond series
  • Prepare financial statements for assigned bond series
  • Pay disbursements related to bond issues, Single-Family expenses & preparing trustee & banking partner letters for investment purchases
  • Maintain database for trustee extract files & transactions, interest rates on variable rate bonds & swaps, bond paydowns & investment purchases
  • Prepare reports used by the group, such as the month end reports from US Bank, investment & bond balance totals, remarketing & liquidity contract information

OHFA’s Office of Finance provides fiscal management, budgeting & accounting for OHFA & its programs. The office manages mortgage revenue bonds, administers & services the Agency’s assets including its housing development loans. The office also coordinates the annual federal & financial audits of all Agency funds, as well as prepares monthly financial reports & quarterly budget reports.

Qualifications

The Office of Finance is seeking a Bond Accountant 2 with the following minimum qualifications:

  • 36 months training or 36 months experience in accounting.
  • OR completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or public administration; AND 12 months training or 12 months experience in accounting.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
  • Necessary Job Skills: Accounting and Finance, Regulatory Compliance, Interpreting Financial Statements, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Time Management, Analyzation.
Applicable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of & experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting
