Job summary

BEAT THE BOMB is opening a new Denver location and seeks a hands-on Bomb Technician to run and maintain the Bomb Rooms. You will load paints, foam, and slime for blasts, guide guests through immersive experiences, and ensure safety and cleanliness throughout the mission.

Ideal candidates are comfortable with messy environments, have a passion for live entertainment, and enjoy working with teams and customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining mechanical systems (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, cars) preferred.
  • Experience with technical systems (e.g., PC builds, robotics, Raspberry Pi) preferred.
  • Comfort with Windows operating systems and basic IT concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Bomb Rooms to HQ standards, load paints, foam, and slime for blasts.
  • Lead guests through Bomb Room experiences, assist with suit removal and cleanup.
  • Maintain guest safety by following safety protocols and adjusting room settings.
  • Perform routine maintenance, test blasts, check for air leaks, and inspect wiring.
  • Keep accurate inventory of tools, parts, and blast materials for daily operations.

The Denver Location

Set to open in the bustling York Street Yards, this will be Beat The Bomb's 7th location, launching in March 2025. This location features our signature Mission experiences, complete with glass-walled bomb rooms where teams face challenges involving Paint, Foam, and Slime. Location offers our classic Mission experiences with glass-walled bomb rooms blasting teams with Paint, Foam, and Slime; 4 immersive arcade lounges ('Game Bays'); street food and a full selection of beer, wine, cocktails & signature slushies @ The Bomb Bar; A beer garden with sports viewing options and dedicated private event spaces for large groups make this an ideal venue for entertainment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

This role is key to running and maintaining the "Bomb Rooms" at Beat The Bomb. If you enjoy hands-on work, don't mind getting a little messy, and love creating fun experiences for others, this position is perfect for you!

  • Bomb Room Operations: Execute all three "blasts" according to HQ and guest standards. Prepare and load materials such as paint, foam, and slime for each blast.
  • Guest Service: Lead guests through the Bomb Room experience, ensuring a safe, immersive, and enjoyable time. Assist guests with suit removal and clean-up after their mission.
  • Guest Safety: Follow all safety protocols to ensure a secure experience. Maintain optimal settings for Bomb Room pressure, cannon heights, and other features to prioritize guest safety.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular upkeep of the Bomb Rooms, including cleaning, testing blasts, checking for air leaks, adjusting pressure, and inspecting wiring.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of tools, parts, and equipment needed for daily operations and repairs. Ensure the venue is well-stocked with blast materials like paint, foam, and slime.
  • Tech Support: Assist with operating and maintaining technical systems, including mission and bomb room games, Game Bays, the photo bomb system, and bomb control boxes.

  • Problem-Solving: Adept at debugging hardware and software issues.
  • Comfort with Mess: Not afraid to get a bit dirty- it's a paint blast facility, after all!
