Job summary

Revology Cars LLC is seeking a BOM Controller to establish and maintain accurate Bills of Materials for vehicle programs. You will work with Design, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure configurations and changes are reflected in the BOM and correctly implemented in production.

Responsibilities include maintaining BOM structures, part numbers, and revisions, coordinating with engineers, tracking maturity, and controlling changes across prototypes and production.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-level BOMs containing thousands of components.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, PLM, or similar product-data-management systems.
  • Strong understanding of part numbering, revision control, and configuration principles.
  • Ability to maintain highly accurate product data and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and control prototype and production vehicle BOMs throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure BOM structures, part numbers, descriptions, quantities, revisions and dates are accurate.
  • Coordinate with Design and Release Engineers to incorporate information into the BOM.
  • Track BOM maturity and product-definition readiness through milestones.
  • Manage BOM changes from engineering releases, supplier changes, and deviations.
  • Reflect ECOs/ECNs in the BOM and maintain configuration control across models.
  • Resolve part-number, sourcing, and revision discrepancies with Purchasing/Scheduling.
  • Audit BOMs at production stations and ensure alignment with ERP and inventory records.

Job description

Revology Cars is hiring a BOM Controller to establish, maintain, and control accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) for our vehicle programs throughout the product development and production lifecycle. The BOM Controller works with Product Development, Engineering, Purchasing, Material Planning, Scheduling, Production, and Program Management to ensure product configurations, part information, and engineering changes are accurately reflected in the BOM and effectively implemented into production.

PAY AND BENEFITS
  • The BOM Controller at Revology Cars will earn between $52,400 and $73,800 per year, depending on skills and experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Create, maintain, and control prototype and production vehicle BOMs throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Ensure BOM structures, part numbers, descriptions, quantities, revisions, effectivity dates, and other required part information are complete and accurate
  • Coordinate with Design and Release Engineers and other Product Development personnel to ensure released product information is accurately incorporated into the BOM
  • Support Program Management by tracking BOM maturity and product-definition readiness through program development milestones
  • Manage BOM changes resulting from engineering releases, design changes, supplier changes, manufacturing requirements, and approved deviations
  • Ensure Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and equivalent change-control documentation are accurately reflected in the BOM
  • Maintain configuration control across vehicle models, options, variants, and program revisions
  • Work with Purchasing to reconcile part-number, sourcing, and revision discrepancies
  • Work with Scheduling and Material Planning to resolve BOM-related issues affecting vehicle assembly and ensure production is building the correct product configuration
  • Identify and resolve BOM discrepancies, including duplicate or obsolete parts, incorrect quantities, missing components, incorrect station assignments, and revision conflicts
  • Perform regular BOM audits at production stations and reconciliations to ensure alignment among engineering releases, purchasing information, ERP and inventory records, and production requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and traceability of product configurations and BOM changes
  • Develop and maintain standardized BOM-management processes and methodologies to promote accuracy and repeatability
  • Generate BOM status, maturity, change, and exception reports for Program Management and other stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and communicate BOM risks that could affect program timing, purchasing, inventory, cost, or production
  • Support vehicle program milestones by ensuring required BOM information is complete and appropriately controlled before release into subsequent phases
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered
  • Three to five years of experience in BOM management, configuration management, product data management, engineering change control, manufacturing planning, or a related automotive or manufacturing function is preferred
  • Experience working with multi-level BOMs containing thousands of components
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, PLM, or similar product-data-management systems
  • Strong understanding of part numbering, revision control, engineering change management, and product configuration principles
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain highly accurate product data and identify discrepancies across large data sets
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across Product Development, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Program Management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes and methodologies that support repeatability and effective configuration control
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP or a comparable ERP/MRP system is preferred
  • Experience with Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE or a comparable Product Lifecycle Management system is preferred
  • Experience in an automotive or related manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is a plus
