Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a materials data specialist who develops bills of materials, maintains part and model libraries, and ensures product data accuracy.

You will interpret drawings, advise on components and fabrication methods, and liaise between departments to support timely product completion. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, detail orientation, blueprint-reading skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; experience in manufacturing, drafting,

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 5+ years of work experience or an associated/ bachelor degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; AutoCAD preferred.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Develop bills of materials from drawings and verbal/written instructions.
• Maintain part and model number libraries and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist in component selection and fabrication method guidance.
• Advise site personnel on proper components for orders.
• Support expansion or modification of the software part/model library.
• Review files for accuracy and completeness.
• Independently maintain the site’s part/model library and descriptions.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure error-free work.
• Serve as liaison between site departments to ensure product completion.
