Job summary

The role requires reading plans, coordinating with foremen, lifting components, rigging, welding, and testing vessels; adherence to safety rules is mandatory, with opportunities for field work and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related field experience.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines under supervision.
• Reports to supervisor or manager; performs assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Locate reference points for foundations and align components with tools.
• Signal crane operator and assist in lifting components to position.
• Align structures using plumb bobs, levels, wedges and turnbuckles.
• Finish edges by hammering, flame-cutting or grinding as needed.
• Bolt or weld structures and supports to frame.
• Install and test vessel components for proper operation.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning; observe safety rules.
