Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks helpers with field experience to assemble, repair and test boilers, tanks and related vessels on site in the United States. The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and following safety procedures on industrial sites.

The job involves rigging, crane signaling, alignment of components, welding and caulking, and performing routine maintenance during projects.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Locates and marks reference points for columns or plates on foundation and applies geometry knowledge.
• Attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift components to position.
• Aligns structures or plates for boiler frame, tanks or vats using plumb bobs and levels.
• Hammers, flame-cuts, files and grinds edges to fit parts together.
• Bolts or arc-welds structures and sections together.
• Installs manholes, gauges and connections to complete vessel assemblies.
• Signals crane operator and assists testing of vessels for leaks.
