The boiler technician is an hourly position responsible for monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining various plant equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, potable water, steam distribution, boilers, water systems, and pumping systems. Responsibilities vary across different types of equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in multiple skill areas such as basic electrical, controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Preferred experience includes formal training or education in a mechanical capacity, with at least one year of maintenance work experience or graduation from an industrial maintenance training program.
- Must be open to working different shifts as required (floating position).
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to understand technical manuals and training documents.
- Responsible for documenting logs and readings.
- Participate in meetings related to boiler, hot water systems, filters, and air compressors.
- Assist engineers and contractors with projects.
- Work independently and follow instructions, adapting to changes and collaborating with others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer's License.
- Minimum of one year of documented maintenance experience or graduation from an industrial maintenance program, including PSM experience.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 75 pounds, and ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and reach.
