Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn boiler operations.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment and around moving equipment.
• Dependable attendance and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and conveyor controls to transport fuel to boilers.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the hog fuel system.
• Perform basic water chemistry testing.
• Read and accurately log information from water meters, gauges, sight glasses, and other equipment.
• Change water and air filters as needed.
• Assist with repairs to boilers, piping, valves, gauges, and related equipment.
• Monitor fuel inventories including wood chips, sawdust, shavings, and bark.
• Report fuel conditions and operational concerns to the Power Plant Operator.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and operating guidelines.

Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring a Boiler Technician Trainee for a local company. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with heavy equipment experience who are looking to build a long-term career in power plant and boiler operations. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn all aspects of boiler and fuel-handling operations.

Pay$24.62 per hour

Job Duties

• Operate front-end loaders and conveyor controls to transport fuel to boilers
