Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc is seeking a full-time Boiler Service Technician II in the Washington DC / Baltimore district. You will service a range of commercial HVAC equipment including boilers, rooftops, and chillers, with comprehensive training opportunities and a focus on safety and quality.

You will lead Level I technicians, participate in ongoing training, and maintain required certifications while delivering high-quality service to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 3+ years of HVAC experience or related industry.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Required license(s) and/or training as required by local law district.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and lubricating.
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHUs, RTUs, cooling towers, and condenser tubes.
• Inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Perform warranty service applications by inspecting and testing systems for functionality.
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Introduce centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports promptly.
• Interact with customers by offering status reports before, during, and after each call.
• Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training through regional technicians and Daikin Learning.
• Maintain all required certifications and continue developing new skills.
• Ensure a clean work area and adherence to safety policies.

Location: Washington DC / Baltimore district

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required

  The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $33.10 - $ 53.05 in STATE. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
