Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc is seeking a full-time Boiler Combustion Technician to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial boiler equipment in the Washington DC area. You will lead trainee technicians and contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency across service calls.

The role requires a strong track record in boiler systems, combustion control, and customer-facing interactions, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• HVAC certification or an Associate degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial boilers and related equipment.
• Log operations, adjust combustion, perform annual service and lubrication.
• Repair and replace defective components of boilers, burners, and control systems.
• Inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and analyze combustion data for optimal performance.
• Lead rebuilds and retrofits of boiler systems and train Level I/II technicians.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial Boiler equipment. Location: Washington DC, Baltimore areas

What you will do:

• Perform maintenance of commercial boilers and associated equipment including logging operations, adjusting combustion, annual service, rebuilding equipment, cleaning heat exchangers and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to boilers, burners, combustion control systems, DA an surge tanks, pumps, valves, and actuators
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Analyze boiler and combustion trend data to ensure optimal performance
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of equipment and components
• Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial and industrial boiler, burner, and combustion controls systems
• Direct technician Levels I and II through hands‑on demonstration of the necessary steps and procedures
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and factory training
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
• Potential travel requirements with some overnight travel

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $37.90 - $ 60.46. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
