Job description

Job Title: Boiler Controls Technician / Mechanical Electrical Technician

Job Summary:

The Boiler Controls Technician is responsible for wiring, troubleshooting, testing, and tuning boilers in the field. The role also involves mechanical work on systems such as pumps, valves, and piping.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Approximately 40% travel required; this is not a local or shop position.
  2. Possess knowledge of PLCs, transformers, transmitters, and other controls.
  3. Wire controls, sensors, and motors for watertube and firetube boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  4. Build and test control panels and systems using engineering wiring schematics and drawings.
  5. Perform boiler start-up in the field.
  6. Read blueprints and wiring schematics.
  7. Maintain tools and parts inventory.
  8. Apply problem-solving skills, creativity, and judgment to achieve results.
  9. Ensure duties and projects are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience with electrical and control systems.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Broad knowledge of controls.
  • Mechanical and electrical background required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems without schematics.
  • Basic PLC familiarity.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Additional Information:

This is a permanent position. Pay rate depends on experience and interview, ranging from $28 to $35 per hour.
