Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment; pharmaceutical/GMP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of production automation systems (e.g., Wonderware, MES, SAP) required.

  • Read and interpret equipment diagrams to support repair and design and troubleshoot plant operations equipment.

What You Will Do

As a Boiler Room Technician/Operator, you will perform all boiler room tasks necessary to operate, troubleshoot, service, adjust, repair, and maintain equipment and utilities supporting facilities and manufacturing processes. You will monitor and adjust boiler utilities to improve equipment efficiency, implement corrective actions, perform routine cleaning and housekeeping, and handle non-routine maintenance while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

With training or experience, you will set up, adjust and troubleshoot plant operations equipment—including air handlers, compressed air, chillers, and cooling tower equipment—to operate efficiently, reliably, and within compliance standards. You will read and interpret equipment diagrams to support repair and design.

You must communicate and coordinate with customers and stakeholders regarding the schedule and impact of work performed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to manufacturing operations and develop/monitor metrics for utility processes, identifying trends and proposing improvement opportunities.
  • Perform final checks for manufacturing facilities and utilities equipment as indicated in preventive maintenance orders and standard operating procedures.
  • Carry out manual tasks such as sorting, inspecting, assembling, and mechanical servicing; support the facilities team ensuring spare parts inventory is correct and compliant; accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for documentation.
  • Order and receive material, identifying and using applicable business systems.
  • Operate forklift, manual and motorized pallet jacks as requested; maintain inventory levels of tools and equipment; manage waste removal, material recycling, and execute equipment cleaning and housekeeping per policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document equipment repairs per standard operating procedures.
  • Startup and shutdown equipment per procedures to ensure proper operation.
  • Follow environmental health and safety procedures during startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, and operation of equipment.
  • Adjust equipment to optimize performance; troubleshoot to minimize downtime; propose long‑term continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or technical certification or relative trade experience. Appropriate license or certification in specific trade position as applicable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment; pharmaceutical/GMP experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move materials from 5 to 25 lbs continuously, and frequently lift or move an average of 25‑50 lbs.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proven ability to interact with operators, management, and groups inside and outside manufacturing; basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of production automation systems (e.g., Wonderware, MES, SAP) required.
