Job summary

AtlantiCare seeks a Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain the boiler room and clinical plant equipment. You will monitor systems, record data, and adjust controls to ensure continuous operation. The role requires 3+ years in a boiler room, NJ Black/Blue Seal In-Charge licenses, and a valid NJ driver's license.

Safety and teamwork are essential in this hospital setting. The position reports to the Chief Stationary Engineer and the Assistant Facility Manager and offers a full-time schedule

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year trade school preferred.
• New Jersey State Stationary Black Seal In-Charge License minimum required.
• New Jersey State Stationary Blue Seal In-Charge License minimum required.
• Advanced license preferred.
• Valid NJ Driver's License required.
• Minimum of 3 years boiler room experience as a Black Seal In-Charge.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• General electrical/mechanical knowledge.
• Performance expectations per Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains stationary equipment such as boilers, air compressors, generators, turbines, chillers.
• Records data (temperature, hours, fuel consumption, water levels) and reads gauges.
• Adjusts manual/automatic controls to start/shut down equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance using hand and power tools.
• Follows PPE and safety protocols; reports safety issues.
• Communicates daily plant operations to coworkers.
• Completes follow-up on assigned repairs.
