Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair boilers and related powerhouse equipment at Jersey City Medical Center. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and reliability of critical hospital systems in a healthcare environment.

You will be responsible for monitoring boiler operations, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting building systems to ensure continuous hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three years of direct work experience with boilers and generating equipment.
• New Jersey Stationary Engineer Black Seal license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain gas- and oil-fired boilers, chillers, heaters, and powerhouse equipment.
• Monitor feed-water levels and fuel-to-air ratios for efficient operation.
• Test feed water and maintain water treatment programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boiler room machinery and related equipment.
• Ensure safety and clean, organized powerhouse environment.
• Assist with snow removal and other assigned duties as needed.
