Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Brunswick Cellulose facility in Brunswick, Georgia, is seeking a Boiler Mechanical Planner to develop and coordinate maintenance plans for boiler systems and related utilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

You will create detailed SMPs, Bills of Materials, labor estimates, and CMMS work orders; build weekly schedules with maintenance and operations; and support outages, procurement, and root-cause analysis to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of maintenance planning experience for industrial boiler systems.
• Experience creating job plans, work packages, and SMPs in a CMMS.
• Knowledge of boiler pressure parts, piping, fans, burners, and refractory systems.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities with contractors and internal craft resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to support outage planning in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain detailed job plans and SMPs for preventive, predictive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.
• Create BOMs, labor estimates, and special tooling requirements.
• Build and maintain model work orders and task lists within the CMMS for recurring boiler maintenance activities.
• Partner with maintenance supervisors, reliability personnel, and operations to develop weekly schedules and priorities.
• Support work management processes that improve planning effectiveness, craft productivity, and schedule compliance.
• Lead or support planning activities for boiler outages and shutdowns, including scope development, material staging, contractor coordination, and job package preparation.
• Coordinate specialty contractors, including welders, refractory contractors, NDE technicians, insulation contractors, and pressure vessel service providers.
• Develop safe and effective work packages for unplanned equipment failures and emergency repairs.
• Coordinate rapid procurement of materials and resources needed to execute priority work.
• Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis activities related to boiler equipment failures, pressure part issues, leaks, and reliability events.
• Maintain equipment records, inspection histories, drawings, and applicable maintenance documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, planning quality, and work execution.
• Incorporate lessons learned into job plans, BOMs, and maintenance procedures to drive continuous improvement.
