Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Coastal Health Care System in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Boiler Plant Operator Supervisor to oversee the Boiler Plant section within the Engineering Service.

This role supervises the team responsible for 24/7 plant operations and adheres to safety and regulatory requirements. Primary duties include planning shifts, coordinating maintenance and PM tasks, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining readiness of plant equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital/industrial plant operations and supervision.
• Ability to plan shifts and provide 24/7 coverage.
• Familiarity with Facility Management SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan duty, leave, and work assignments for shop staff.
• Assign and communicate priorities across shifts.
• Schedule PMs and track work orders for timely completion.
• Oversee installation, repair, and general maintenance work.
• Maintain records per federal and VA regulations.
• Ensure 24-hour coverage for facility management activities.
