Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a skilled boiler plant operator and supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant steam generation. The role involves leading engineers and firemen, conducting routine inspections, and maintaining thorough logs.

You'll monitor the energy management system and HVAC equipment, respond to on-site issues promptly, and perform related duties to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Operates boiler plant safely and in compliance with MA regulations.
• Provides direction and training to engineering staff on operation and maintenance.
• Monitors and reports on boiler and auxiliary system conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine boiler plant inspections at least five days per week.
• Maintains logs of inspections, status, and maintenance activities.
• Responds onsite within one hour of critical boiler issues unless authorized otherwise.
• Oversees and guides 3rd Class Engineers, 1st Class Firemen, and 2nd Class Firemen.
• Operates the energy management system and monitors HVAC/air-handling equipment.
