Job summary

Joseph Abboud Manufacturing Co in New Bedford, MA is seeking a dependable Boiler Operator with hands-on maintenance experience to join the maintenance team. The role focuses on operating boilers, diagnosing issues, and keeping automated assembly equipment running smoothly.

You will perform preventative maintenance, repair forklifts and other shop equipment, follow safety SOPs, and work in a high-volume environment with overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on maintenance experience.
• 2nd Class Fireman's license to operate boilers.
• Strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, assemble, repair and maintain equipment and systems for automated and manual production.
• Maintain material handling equipment including forklifts, conveyors, and loading docks.
• Coordinate and participate in preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Operate and use manual tools and powered-shop machinery to service equipment.
• Repair and maintain equipment, ensure safety and proper functionality.
• Maintain inventories and support production needs in a high-volume facility.
