Job summary

Medxcel is hiring a Boiler Operator for Providence Rochester Hospital in Rochester, MI. You will maintain and operate boilers, chillers, pumps and related equipment to support facility operations and patient care.

Responsibilities include readings, seasonal boiler prep, preventative maintenance, and supervision-free work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on safety and compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Current City of Detroit High Pressure Boiler Operator License, or equivalent at time of hire/transfer date is required.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manufacturers specifications.
• Familiar with building maintenance techniques and safety codes.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and repairs building automation system equipment, including absorbers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers and air handling units.
• Takes readings on all equipment and maintains daily boiler readings and reports.
• Prepares boilers for seasonal inspection and repairs/overhauls steam equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance according to schedule.
• Operates high pressure steam boilers and related equipment and performs water analysis.
• Monitors and maintains generators and fire alarm systems; performs related electrical/piping work.
• Promotes safety and adheres to Standards of Performance and Code of Ethics.
