Job summary

CoxHealth Center Branson is seeking a Boiler Operator II responsible for proficient maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems. You will monitor and inspect boiler steam, condensate systems, chillers, pumps, and related equipment, and operate CMMS to dispatch work orders.

The role requires at least three years of boiler/chiller/mechanical experience with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years boiler/chiller/mechanical experience required.
  • Preferred: trade school in mechanical fields.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiar with CMMS and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and inspect boiler, chiller, HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Monitor steam, condensate systems, pumps, tubes, boilers, and safety devices.
  • Respond to work requests promptly and prioritize tasks across shifts.
  • May work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

This position will monitor, maintain, and inspect boiler steam, condensate systems, chiller systems, booster pumps, tube stations, elevators, as well as serve as dispatch for the Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS). Responds to work requests timely and professionally and is able to complete work assignments. The Boiler Operator II may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields Experience: Required: At least three years prior boiler/chiller/mechanical work or related experience. Skills: Proficient communication skills. Ability to prioritize workload. Proficient skills necessary to find solutions to equipment malfunctions and initiate necessary repairs. Proficient knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties. Proficient knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure. Proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs. Demonstrates proficient technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas: • Plumbing and fixtures • Electrical wiring, devices, lighting and motors • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and cooling towers • Steam and boilers • Pressure vessels and associated equipment • Generators • Medical gas and vacuum • Refrigeration units and ice machines • Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers • Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels • Chilled water and condenser pumps Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: Active Driver's License Preferred: STI Fire Stop Certified (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified)
