Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY is seeking a Boiler Operator to operate and maintain the plant's high‑pressure steam boilers, perform water testing, and monitor cooker operations with thorough record keeping. Hours are 9:45pm–6:15am, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include running softeners, igniting boilers, and achieving 125 psi boiler pressure. A high school diploma is required, plus a valid 1st Class B or 2nd Class B license with the ability to obtain 1st Class within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires a State License a current 1st Class B license or 2nd Class B license with the ability to acquire a 1st Class license within three months of hire.

SUMMARY:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or its equivalent is required to perform the duties of this position. A consistent work history is helpful as well as a positive, healthy work ethic. The employee must be able to understand and follow safety directions, Good Manufacturing Practices and work direction as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to understand work directions and observe safety rules. As part of a working team, the employee must be able to understand and follow directions. The employee will also be required to complete appropriate paperwork to the duties of the position. The employee must be able to read and comply with posted work schedules.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Warehouse environment that is sometimes dark, dusty/dirty, hot/humid in summer and cold in winter. Production environment can be wet, steamy and humid. Outside weather conditions could include any temperature from very cold to very hot.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud. Hearing protection required.
