Job Opportunity: Boiler Operator at PABCO Roofing

As a new member of our Maintenance department, your role as a Boiler Operator involves ensuring the safe operation of our plant boiler and supporting plant operations through the following responsibilities:

• Monitor boiler steam pressure, water levels, and feed meters
• Collect and adjust boiler water samples
• Prepare boiler for inspection, including cleaning and opening
• Perform blowdowns, change charts, and check feed water pumps
• Manage tank operations, including hooking up and pumping out tankers
• Record weights, times, and tank levels of loads
• Operate and monitor slate systems and dryers
• Maintain dust bags and SWECO equipment
• Adjust feed percentages and monitor temperatures
• Operate backup generator during power outages
• Maintain air compressors and adhere to safety protocols
• Complete any additional tasks or projects assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Class III or IV Boiler Certificate
• Preferred: Six months of forklift experience
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Flexible to work all shifts
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely
• Maintain forklift certification
• Electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more

Pay rate: $36.00 per hour (non-exempt). Benefits include medical, vision, life insurance, AD&D, disability, 401K, profit sharing, bonuses, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and overtime pay.
