Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Boiler and Machinery Field Inspector to conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections across accounts. You will work under supervision to evaluate risk, identify hazardous conditions, and support underwriting and claims with accurate reports.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, two years in boiler/machinery, and certification readiness (Inservice Commission). Travel and independent work are common in this field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two years of boiler & machinery industry experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must obtain Inservice Commission from National Board within six months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a field presence onsite with customers 20%–50% of the time.
• Manage jurisdictional inspection workload within assigned territory.
• Conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections per jurisdictional rules; identify hazards and report.
• Perform risk evaluations and communicate findings to partners.
• Document findings and report results clearly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
