Long Beach Coffee & Tee in Long Beach, NY is seeking a talented Short Order Cook & Prep to join our back-of-house kitchen team. The role involves quick, quality breakfast, lunch, and café-style items prepared in Turbo Chef and convection ovens, with no grill, fry, or stovetop work.

You’ll follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, manage mise en place, watch inventory, and collaborate with front-of-house for smooth service.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as short order cook, line cook, or kitchen prep cook preferred.
• Communicate shortages or needs to the team.
• General food prep knowledge.
• Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Food handler certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute short order cooking including breakfast, lunch, and café-style menu items with speed and consistency.
• Perform daily prep work including chopping, slicing, portioning, and mise en place.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards to ensure food quality.
• Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and communicate supply needs to management.
• Adhere to all food safety and health code regulations.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely ticket flow.

About the Role:

Long Beach Coffee & Tee is looking for a talented and energetic Short Order Cook & Prep to join our back-of-house kitchen team in Long Beach, NY! Laid back and chill atmosphere with a small menu of high-quality food items, cooked in Turbo Chef and convection ovens. No grill, fry, or stovetop work. Applicants must be comfortable reading tickets in English and able to follow instruction and learn the processes and systems in place. Owners are chill but they do have clear expectations which will be laid out in training.
