Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA seeks a Paint Prep Technician to bring passion, precision, and problem-solving to restoring Porsche 911s into exceptional cars. Onsite role with a 1:45pm–10:15pm schedule and potential overtime; compensation includes a $1.50 per hour shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• File, grind, mask, prep, and sand to exact standards.
• Apply primer and paint, conduct quality inspections.
• Inspect vehicles for flaws before painting.

• Use hand and power tools to repair and align panels.

WhyYou'llLove This Role:

• You will carry out paint preparation work to the absolute highest standards on our Singer luxury vehicles in a manner thatdemonstrates, "Everything is Important."

WhatYou'llDo:

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, filing, grinding, masking, prepping, sanding to precise standards, applying primer, paint application,andconducting quality assurance inspections and revisions prior to our advanced paint application process.
• Clean and inspect vehicles for any flaws or imperfections prior to painting
• Prep vehicles for paint application and ensures quality assurance to precise company standards.
• Properly fill depressions with body filler and ensures a quality repair.
• Carefully and accurately mask any areas that are not meant to be painted.
• Use hammers/dollies to fix minor metalwork.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
• Replace bolts on panels and align properly.

WhoWe'reLooking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in paint preparation for high-end luxury automobiles, hot rods, or restoration shops
• Experience with painting and prepping custom or restored automobiles
• Experience filing, sanding, and grindingdifferent materialssuch as steel, carbon- fiber/composite and/or fiberglass to provide an impeccable surface in preparation for paint application on custom automobiles
• Experience prepping and paintingdifferent materialsincluding steel, and composites
• Ability to perform quality assurance to precise company standards
• Experience using various hand and power tools and equipment
• Mustpossesseshigh attention to detail, adhere tohigh standards, and work well in a dedicated team environment where, "Everything is Important"
• Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines

Location & Schedule:

This is an onsite position in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday - Friday 1:45pm - 10:15pm with potential overtime. This role is eligible for $1.50 per hour shift differential.
