Job summary

Jobtailor in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Electrical/Mechatronic Engineer to lead production process development for automotive body weld systems. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to drive safety, quality, and cost improvements.

You will apply lean methods, ergonomic evaluations, and CAD-based drafting to deliver projects on time and within budget, while developing best-in-class production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering or related field.
• 36 months of experience including proprietary PLC and robot programming language.
• Automotive body weld experience.
• Lean manufacturing / visual systems.
• Continuous improvement and project management.
• Ergonomic evaluations.
• Quality circles.
• Engineering drafting and modeling software experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify requirements for maintenance and production resources to modify body weld systems.
• Improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Gain consensus cross-functionally for process improvement opportunities.
• Develop production processes to meet safety, quality, cost and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate and/or lead projects within the Body Planning team.
• Create a continuous improvement environment for best-in-class production systems.
• Coordinate production trials for model changes.
• Coordinate team members and develop teamwork.
• Coordinate activities with maintenance to minimize delays.
• Develop systems to meet KPI's and analyze data for performance improvements.
• Monitor safety, quality, cost, productivity; develop improvement activities.
• Complete projects on schedule and within budgets.
• Provide direction and assistance to analyze production issues.
