This position is responsible for body repairs on all RTD buses, cars, trucks, vans, and other equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Repairs or rebuilds bus or automotive bodies, including major repairs, masking, painting, etc.
• Welds steel and aluminum.
• Fabricates fiberglass, aluminum, steel, plastic, or other body parts as needed.
• Cuts and fits all body glass.
• Operates shop tools and equipment safely and properly.
• Accurately completes repair orders, core and warranty tags, parts slips, and other records.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

• 2 years of work experience in a mechanical shop or a degree from a recognized body repair school.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• No more than five (5) points on motor vehicle record (MVR) in the past two years and no more than 10 points in seven years; no DUI, DWI, or reckless driving in the past five years.
• Ability to pass RTD physical ability assessment (PAA) and DOT physical, and hold a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License Permit with air brake and passenger endorsements (Class B-P).
• Ability to pass RTD body technician test and interview.

Additional qualifications:

• Ability to pass RTD on-the-job training for body shop, driver, forklift, and physical assessments.
• Ability to work in various environments, including dust, fumes, noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Possess 80% of the approved Body Shop tools at hire, 100% by end of probation.
• Flexible schedule availability.

Work hours: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, days off: Saturday and Sunday.

Pay Range: $30.26 - $34.78 hourly.
