Position Summary
The Body Shop Technician performs collision, structural, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs on trucks and trailers. This role works closely with customers and the Parts Department to ensure repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform collision and body repairs according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Identify and report hidden damage during the repair process.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to obtain necessary parts.
- Document repairs and recommendations on repair orders.
- Conduct road tests as needed to verify repair quality.
- Participate in training programs and maintain required certifications.
- Assist with mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly care for company tools and equipment.
- Follow all EPA, OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of body shop, collision repair, or related experience.
- Experience using welding equipment, paint systems, shop machinery, and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Vocational or technical school training.
- Certifications in truck and trailer repair or refinishing.
