Job summary

Hudson Automotive Group is looking for an Experienced Body Shop Paint Technician to join the team at Beaman Toyota in Nashville, TN. You will work in a high-volume environment, utilizing your skills to paint and repair vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.

This position offers a salary range of $60K to $150K per year with a balanced work schedule and no weekends. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401k, and paid vacations.

Essential Job Duties

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
• Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
• Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Mixes paint according to specifications.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
• Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas.
• Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested.
• Repair collision damaged vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
• Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials and reports any deviations to management.
• Documents all work performed on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, and returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
