Job summary

Greensboro Auto Auction, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking experienced Body Shop Paint Prep Technicians to join our full-time team. Responsibilities include inspecting repairs, preparing vehicles for painting, masking, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

This position may require weekend work based on workflow. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a high-volume shop and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in a high volume shop or related schooling.
• Knowledge in cleaning of panels, sanding and filling chips prior to painting.
• Experience in masking and taping of vehicles.
• Experience in wet sanding and blocking procedures.
• Good communication skills, positive attitude and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Inspect quality of repairs received from Body Department.
• Load vehicles into spray booth.
• Final preparation for painting: blocking, sanding, masking, filling chips, cleaning panels.
• Remove vehicles from spray booth.
• Prepare vehicles and parts following SOPs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Participate in ongoing technical and safety training.
• Ensure safe movement of vehicles in, out and through the department.
• Adhere to paint production schedule as designated by paint supervisor.

Our client, Greensboro Auto Auction is the South's leading independent, dealer exclusive auto auction. Greensboro Auto Auction, also known as GAA, is locally owned and operated. We are currently recruiting for experienced Body Shop Paint Prep Technicians. This is a full time position with benifits. Employees may be required to work weekends as dictated by workflow.

Duties

• Inspect quality of repairs received from Body Department
• Load vehicles into spray booth
• Final preparation for painting to include: blocking; sanding; masking; filling chips; and cleaning panels.
• Remove vehicles from spray booth
• Prepare vehicles and parts following the Standard Operation Procedures
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
• Ensure safe movement of vehicle in, out and through the department
• Adhere to paint production schedule as designated by paint supervisor.
