Job summary

Greensboro Auto Auction in Greensboro, NC is seeking experienced Body Shop Paint Prep Technicians to join our full-time team. You will prepare vehicles for painting, load them into the spray booth, and ensure quality prep work in a fast-paced shop.

Applicants should have at least 2 years in a high-volume shop or related schooling, with masking, sanding, and chip filling experience, plus a collaborative attitude and willingness to learn. Weekend work may be required based on workflow.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume shop or related schooling.
• Experience in panel cleaning, sanding and chip filling prior to painting.
• Experience in masking and taping vehicles for painting.
• Proficient in wet sanding and blocking prep work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect quality of repairs from Body Department.
• Load vehicles into spray booth and prep for painting.
• Blocking, sanding, masking, filling chips, and panel cleaning.
• Prepare vehicles and parts per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Participate in ongoing technical and safety training.
• Adhere to paint production schedule.

Our client, Greensboro Auto Auction is the South's leading independent, dealer exclusive auto auction. Greensboro Auto Auction, also known as GAA, is locally owned and operated. We are currently recruiting for experienced Body Shop Paint Prep Technicians. This is a full time position with benifits. Employees may be required to work weekends as dictated by workflow.

Duties

• Inspect quality of repairs received from Body Department
• Load vehicles into spray booth
• Final preparation for painting to include: blocking; sanding; masking; filling chips; and cleaning panels.
• Remove vehicles from spray boothPrepare vehicles and parts following the Standard Operation Procedures
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
• Ensure safe movement of vehicle in, out and through the department
• Adhere to paint production schedule as designated by paint supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a high volume shop or prior schooling in related field
• Knowledge in cleaning of panels, sanding and filling chips prior to painting
• Experience in masking and taping of vehicles
• Experience in wet sanding and blocking procedures
• Good communication skills, positive attitude and be able to nurture a team environment
