Responsibilities

• Estimate cost of repairing damaged tractors and trailers by visual inspection and knowledge of parts, costs, and labor rates.
• Inspect for dents, scratches, frame damage, or misalignment indicators.
• Examine interior for fire or water damage to upholstery and appointments.
• Determine feasibility of repair or replacement of parts per costs.
• Compute costs of parts and labor; explain estimates to customers.
• Enter itemized estimates on job-order forms and discuss with customers.
• Estimate costs of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs when shop handles body work and mechanical servicing.
• Estimate repainting, conversion, or customization for undamaged vehicles as needed.
• Direct collision repair tech when clarification is needed during the repair process.
• Pick up or deliver vehicles as needed, including CDL trucks or trailers.
